Virtually Going to Target Schools info session from another school?

Now that info sessions are virtual and you can sign up for any info session, do you think it would hurt/benefit me if I signed up for info sessions at target schools?

I come from a semi-target that doesn't have much recruiting for NY but is strong on the west coast. But I want to go to NY

Not talking about going to the coffee chats or going to the breakout room sessions but more so the info sessions to learn more about the firm specifically and maybe have some more people to cold contact after the info session.

Also can give more insight for interviews to speak about besides the people I've talked to. Wouldn't really be networking at these events just gathering info.

That’s a bad idea. The professionals who come to these info sessions are usually alumni from the school, and they won’t look positively on someone not from the school who snuck his way into the info session to later contact them
