Not to hijack your thread, but I am an incoming corporate banking grad at a BB in London.
Do you still think it's a good role to start off your career in? Is the lower comp worth it vs IB? Would appreciate any thoughts you have on a career in CB at the junior level in London. There's lots of info here but its very US-centric. Thanks!
Not to hijack your thread, but let me hijack your thread. Lol.
It depends on the team, some sectors are very corp fin heavy and you're working near IB hours for ok ish pay (US banks in London Associate pay around 95-110K range with 40-50% bonus). Or you can be in a chilled team where hours are usually 50/60 a week.
I would do it for two years and try to switch into IB. It's a good role to get your foot in the door, then when you're working with different IB teams look to network and move internally.

Your plan to pursue an MBA at MIT Sloan is well-aligned with your goals. The scholarship, tech brand, and US opportunities make it a strong investment. Focus on leveraging Sloan’s resources, positioning your experience effectively, and building a robust network in tech/fintech. With a clear strategy, you can successfully pivot into BizOps or Strategy & Ops roles while maintaining seniority and achieving your long-term goals.

A bit hard to opine really on all of these. Wouldn’t you be able to lateral into a credit fund?
Yeah its an option, I think I want to pivot into running a business/possible ETA. I just dont see banking paying as much as it used to and tired of the politics. But Credit fund is a good option.
