Warwick MSc in finance to BB equity research
hello everyone! so I've been accepted to the Warwick MSc in finance, but without any scholarships. i think given how competitive it is I'm lucky to get in!
nonetheless, I'm still really worried about the career prospects of the program. I have only one internship in commercial banking, and so I'm already kissing IB goodbye. I have CFA level 1 passed, so I'm thinking about equity research position at a BB. does anyone have an idea if this is possible/doable? thanks all!
CFA L1 will help to justify why ER. If you perform well with tests and hirevues the Warwick brand will give you interviews.

My point here is your overthinking it. WBS will open you doors as it’s a target and then at that point it’s all down to you as a candidate.
hey thanks for the answer! I'm overthinking it indeed, just to lay out my plan. I'd be in a lot of debt and temporary visa, so just comparing my options that's all :)
Do you have any other option besides Warwick? I was accepted to Warwick last year too but ended up choosing ESSEC.
Warwick MSc is definitely enough to land front office offers. If you cannot land an internship in IBD you will not land in ER.

Yes, it's up to yourself. If you are good, apply early you will land. MSc at Warwick has a good amount of Chinese people who don't apply and directly go back home why their placement might be negatively scewed.
guy above summed it up perfectly. Two things, lots of people do a MSc with no relevant experience and at that point it’s difficult for anyone coming from anywhere that’s not LBS or HEC. Secondly, there’s a shitton of internationals that have no real intention of staying here so don’t apply. OP, I promise you a MSc at WBS will get you looks, once at the interview it’s all down to you.
