Any current or former Wharton MBA students on this board? I am applying in the upcoming weeks and looking for a little sanity check on my essays. I know I am basically asking one for you to do the job of an admissions consultant but unfortunately, I don’t have the $$$ for that. I’m just looking for someone who may at least be able to tell me that what I’ve got is going in the right direction. Thanks a lot and I appreciate anyone willing to help out.

You might want to check out mbavolunteers.org. Full disclosure, I am one of the volunteers, but I'm not the Wharton person. They'll review your essays in exchange for a modest donation to any of ten great charities. It's quite a bit cheaper than an admissions consultant, and the money goes to a good cause (of your choosing).
I just took a look at the site; it's a pretty cool concept. I noticed that most of the volunteers are Indian. Is that just by coincidence, or are you guys catering to international applicants who struggle with essays? I'm gonna start on my apps once my GMAT is done in october, and i'm trying to figure out if it would be worth it for someone like me.
