What can I do outside of school as a freshman?
Hi everyone! I'm a freshman at Kelley and am looking at a career in investment banking. As mentioned in one of my earlier posts, I'm feeling extremely behind in comparison with the other students at Kelley. I have virtually no advanced knowledge of stocks, bonds, the markets, etc. I've only researched these topics at a high-level.
For all the experienced folks out there, what kinds of things should I be studying as a freshman if I want to go into investment banking? I'm by no means a try-hard, IB or Nothing kind-of-guy, but I just want to know what I need to start learning about. Do I need to know about stocks? Do I need to know about valuation/modeling? I'm super lost and can't figure out what exactly to do here to get the ball rolling.
Furthermore, if any of you could recommend any materials or courses that I should take a look at, that would be AWESOME! Any other tips or feedback would also be greatly appreciated.
