What should I do as a student
I’m entering a target uni in Switzerland in September for bachelors in economics and I want to get into investment banking. What should I be doing right now to maximise my chances of getting an offer in ib. I’m currently doing an internship at a startup where I’m writing reports and PowerPoints on the valuation of peers in the market. What should I be doing in college and before that to prepare for ib?
If you're just now entering uni and already scored an internship I'd say you're well underway to a couple of offers in the future.
Only things I would add are some more extracurriculars (board years, committee's, student council etc.) or just write a blog.
Don't put too much pressure on yourself and just try to get above-above average grades. Should be fine
If you really want an IB job, don’t only apply in Switzerland (Good shot at London/Frankfurt).
If by target school you mean HSG, you won’t have many issues scoring an internship at UBS, CS. Might be more difficult for JPM and the likes. If you don’t already speak fluent German, work on that (if you want to recruit in the DACH region).
