Historically they haven't been as strong sending people into finance, but over the last few years I think they have strengthened their reputation and results in the finance arena. This year they have a new head of career services from Wharton who is very impressive and I think is making some great changes at SOM. For any school you consider, you should ask these types of questions to make sure you'll get out of it what you want (e.g. well-positioned to transition into your target sector).

i visited yale SOM and from my research, they do seem to place fairly well in IB. they are a really small school (smallest of the top 15?) so you won't meet very many of them randomly. i don't know how their p/e placement is.

Pros: Small school- very intimate Great alumni network- really responsive Places a lot of grad into more non-traditional positions, so less IB competition Yale is a really fun place

Cons: Small school- limits network newer program New SOM building hasn't been built yet Campus is on "Science Hill" not in the center of the campus Not in a major metro (albeit a train ride from NYC or Boston)

Pros: Yale is a really fun place

Yeaa, I'm sure Yale kids have a lot of fun. A fun time for them might be drinking their first alcoholic beverage, a wine cooler of course, and getting hammered off of it.

Yes, your college experience was undoubtedly soooo crazy and insanely awesome. You are the king of partying!!

I'm sure those uptight Yale kids hate hanging around in their castle-like dorms, eating from their all-organic dining halls, and spending their rich parents/roommates' parents' money. Who could ever enjoy having some of the world's finest art hanging in your university galleries? Who would like a place with the biggest tailgating event in New England (Havard-Yale football game)?

I bet those Yale kids hate college. Totally. You sure put them in their place! Nice! [high five!!]
