ACT Commodities / Group

Do you have any insights into the firm? I'm considering a move from an Equity Research and Fund of Funds background, driven by my growing interest in sales. The role is being marketed as a Sales Trader for Carbon Credits.

The first-year compensation is relatively low — a base salary of €45–55k with a 20% bonus. I've heard similar figures from several boutique firms. Is it typical for boutiques to offer significantly lower pay for first-year roles compared to banks?

Coming from ER and FoF, I feel like my current path is reaching a dead end, so I’m looking to pivot into something new. That said, the first-year comp is actually lower than what I earned in my first year in ER.

However, HR mentioned that compensation increases significantly by year 2, with average bonuses around 100%, and that by year 3 the pay “skyrockets” to six-digit bonuses.

If HR's claims are accurate, year 1 would mean taking a ~50% pay cut from my current salary, year 2 would be roughly on par (or slightly higher), and year 3 would represent a significant step up.

Does this sound realistic? Are those figures truly achievable or at least mid-bucket targets?
