Any insight on how to break into Banking in HK

Hi everyone,

I'm a final year student aiming to break into S&T with prior internship experiences at (1) Research Analyst at an Asset Management company and (2) Equity Derivative Trading intern at a Market Maker. I'm purely interested in breaking into Banking and at this point it doesn't matter if it's S&T/IBD/AMPB/ or GCM.

The job market this year is still shitty and some people on this website objectively told me that I wouldn't stand a chance this year for the actual Banking jobs. Since I have to graduate soon (school policy), I can't take any more gap semesters and give myself more time until the economy bounces back. I need to secure at least one job from the coming 2024 SA application.

Any advice on how I can get there, and any plan B idea is appreciated.
