anything besides excel
do traders use anything else besides excel? wouldn't access be more of use given how much information is out there and how big a database could get?

Do traders use excel? I thought this mostly applied to bankers.
Excel is an extremely important tool on a trading desk. Except instead of making the fonts pretty colors, its used for pricing and decision purposes.
Excel is used in pretty much every job. It's a good way to organize information, numbers, and operate them. Consulting and trading use excel a lot and even in places like law firms and advertising, sales jobs, etc... No one is as proficient as bankers, but it's an extremely useful tool for pretty much any corporate job.
I mean it's good to focus on excel right? I love it, but my desk has a hard on for access and it sucks
Your desk uses access as their price database? Wow
LMFAO@ hard on for access
