Assessing competitiveness

I am a junior undergrad at a target, doing operations research. I have a 3.5 GPA and one summer experience at a small hedge fund. I know the economy is bad and alot banks are reducing hires, so realistically, I want an assessment on what kinds of place I can land this coming summer. Thank you in advance. (I like to go into S&T at a BB or a larger hedge fund)

can u beat out ur peers to get into the interview room and can u impress people in there. every ivy is a target...so the banks are all coming...ur resume/connections is what gets u into the interview room and how u do in there is what gets u a job or not.

McMo, my boss at the small hedge fund actually want to keep me pretty badly for the summer. He did offer to help me out with contacts, but I don't know if I can trust him, considering the conflicts of interest. (Or maybe I am just paranoid)
