Beginning to Trade
Hi I'm just wondering how to start trading, I read bondarb's post on futures but thats for people with access to interactive brokers, I've never traded before and I'm currently in a sophmore in canada. would I be only able to trade equities in my position? and is it a good place to learn the ropes for other products?
Why don't you open a paper trading account for like 3 months, make sure you know what you're doing, and then trade your own money? IMO, unless you have like at least $5K it's not really worth it because commissions will eat into your profits too much and/or you'll have too few positions and a very low portfolio turnover.
do you want to "trade" as in speculate as in you turnover your positions frequently? or do you want to invest?
