Question for EM/LATAM guys out there.... outside of the US Primaries (Citi/JP/GS/MS, etc), what is the best Latin American bank to work for, on EM/LATAM trading? I have looked @ Santander, BBVA, BTG, etc, but curious which of the Latin American banks clients view as best.

Avoid spanish banks... they tend to pay lower than the rest and not great places to be... i would go for brazilian banks (BTG, Itau, Bradesco)

Most likely United States. Do you have any intel on what positions are like in São Paulo / Mexico City vs NYC/ Miami? Hours , pay etc . I'm making a lateral transfer from structured credit to get on the front lines of Venezuela's situation.

I am not 100% sure, but as far as I know both Brazil and Mexico are good payers and, adjusted by cost of living, you'd be making more than in US. But I can't tell numbers.. I don't cover nor work in any of those two countries (I'm in Argentina, another good place to be -if you are willing to live in a high-inflation country)
PDVSA 24 could be a great deal, if you are brave enough...

Yes - Operation Car Wash. Itau looks like a heavy hitter though. Any thoughts on BTG vs Itau ?
In Brazil, Santander is a big player and is almost like a local champion despite being European.
Itau is strong too.
Among the bulge brackets, Credit Suisse is very strong for trading in Brazil.
Look at some of the Canadian banks too. I know Scotia is pretty prominent in LatAm.
As previously mentioned, Scotia is becoming huge in South America. They are probably the strongest players in commodities excluding Ag.
