Best NYC firms?
Hello guys I had a question. What are some good NYC prop or just trading in general for beginners. I'm far from a beginner since ive been trading on my own for 7 years.
I'm looking for a firm that pays a bit base salary 35-50, doesn't require a BA. I have a fairly extensive resume. Also, is a Series 7 required to trade? And if I already have it will that help in the hiring process?
What about these firms on craigslist letting you trade remotely and promising firm money any advice on those.

yeah i saw that today but it said something about a BA in their training program. Which i will probably need since i don't have professional trade experience. Also, quick question in general about these Prop Firms. Why do they even hire people i don't understand. Why can't they just hire one successful trader and have that 1 person manage the whole firms money. Or algorithims?
Because having many people trade is much less risky than just 1...
i have no idea doesn't make any sense, first off if these guys are training you and teaching you their system they can run it themselves fuck do you even need people lol. Whatever as long as they are hiring could care less what their reasons are.
Quick question going back to the Degree, how relevant is that compared to your experience? If i don't have a degree but have good almost 7 year exp in financial services, would i have a hard time applying to some of these places? For example first new york? Can i at least get into the training program?

Yes, you need a college degree...
The highly reputable firms would much rather hire ivy quants who they know they can teach rather than someone without a degree who's been trading for 7 years. Especially for their training programs many times they prefer some of the less experienced-why would they want to have to train someone who has been trading for 7 years and likely has their own method of trading which would be very hard to break when they could take a fresh quant from a great program and mold them exactly how they like, since they will have no prior knowledge an therefore have 0 flaws that need fixing.
Getting into the major firms with a degree from a non-target is nearly impossible. I doubt they'd even think about hiring someone without a degree. The major prop firms are looking for the absolute top of the top.
What about a reconized international BA from, such as from a country outside the US.
No dude alot more then that lol. Trading related yeah trading my own money with no degree. Career wise, managed 3 liscened reps. Set a company record for prospects/recruits in Primerica when it was a part of Citi with 4,000+ in a 3 month period. Have three patents pending technology related/not trading related Am Life Lisenced. I can get my Series 7, will any of these things help?
What would be the best route to get into these places if you don't know anyone? Chop Shop, for a year or two and use that as trading experience.?
Also, what alternatives are there to these "prestigious" firms? Are there any normal ones where you can still make a shit load of money if you're good? Possibly provide some sort of salary? Are there any reputable companies that don't require degrees?
