Amazing story!
This guy is obviously very sharp and would have gone into finance either way. But I wonder if being blind has also attributed to his success (re: having to overcome a career-limiting disability made him work extra hard and become very efficient in the things he can do - like quantifying risk in his head).
Now if he also fights crime on the side, he could be the Indian Daredevil.

I'm surprised that he did not get into HBS or Stanford given his impressive story.
Is that seriously the first thing you though of? Tool. He goes to Wharton, which is just as good as the other two, possibly better since he is going into trading.
Are you surprised Patrick did not go to HBS when he had the ability to make a site like this? What about Kenneth Asness? Milken? Steven Cohen? Ambani? and the rest of them. Stop hating on Wharton you dumb shit.
I am totally inspired by this guy, kudos to him for achieving all he did despite his impediment.

Had a meeting with him last year. Very humble guy who downplays his accomplishments. At the time, he worked in JPM's London commods prop trading unit, a group of six people in a glass sealed unit who were rumored to have made JPM a few hundred million in 2008. He was moved when the group got "disbanded" earlier in the year when all the big firms were under pressure to eliminate prop trading. Not sure where he sits now, but I assume he's still doing prop trading. In any case, he hasn't updated his LinkedIn http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=8039645
