Breaking into trading for experienced professionals

By the time I am done with my Associate program in PE, I will have around 4 yrs of experience in finance. My first 2 yrs were in VC.

I am not too familiar with trading and recruiting so wanted to get your thoughts.

What is the best way for someone like me to get into trading (buy-side preferred). While my experience is in VC/PE, I have basic knowledge of commodities. I am open to equities, FI, Fx, or commodities.

Are there any firms that do rotational/fixed-term programs? I feel like this would be the best way as I can leave without burning bridges if I don't enjoy it...

What kinds of skill set is required / I should be working on?

This might be a stupid question but is there a quant trader (I know that HFs can be categorized as quant, fundamental, etc.)? What other types of traders are there?

What is the average comp (base/bonus)?
