Capital Gains Tax Rates
So I have shares of “Company X”. Company X plans to split its services into separate companies promising to issue equal shares of Comany X2 to current shareholders for free. Does the clock start ticking for the new shares when they’re issued or are they tied to the original purchase? I’m probably overthinking the obvious, but I haven’t gone through this on yet. Thx in advance.
