Chicago Trading Firms Internships?

Hey guys,

I have some great student experience from my college in FOREX trading and algorithmic modeling. I have been looking for and internship in S&T for this summer, but what type of firms will look at a student from an unranked school even though I have great extracurricular experience in trading? (GPA 3.35). I am honestly just lost on where to look for good firms that would accept

I am mainly looking in Chicago, and any suggestions or opinions on some firms would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!!

(Yes I am researching on my own also.. I just wanted some more feedback)

Might be hard to break into S&T from a non-target; however if you can sell yourself on your resume and have some sort of quantitative major (think STEM), you might be able to break into a Chicago prop firm--they're usually more forgiving about applying through non-OCR than the BBs.

He's talking about trading, not S&T. What are you talking about man.

I'll be honest with you though, these Chicago firms are becoming more and more like BB in that they stick to more of a recruiting cycle and like to hire kids from better schools, whereas before they would've looked at anyone who was hungry/street smart enough. Some of them are still like that though, so maybe target your recruiting efforts (i.e. Consolidated will probably be more willing to look at you whereas Chopper will care more about your pedigree, just examples from what I've heard though)

I don't accept sacrifices and I don't make them. ... If ever the pleasure of one has to be bought by the pain of the other, there better be no trade at all. A trade by which one gains and the other loses is a fraud.
