choice of prop firm offers?

Hey all, I currently have offers from Belvedere and Volant. Offers differ considerably in comp, but volant is also in nyc so there's a cost of living difference. I was wondering what each firm's reputation was, or any other info that would help me make my choice. Thanks!!

Volant is very heavily invested into the HFT side in options but pretty small, especially compared to bigger players in the same space like IMC. Might not be your cup of tea if you are looking for a more "traditional" trader experience. Big on automation and pretty good in their niche, but doesn't seem to take riskier (but juicier) trades.

Belvedere has a large presence in index options (SPX) but seems to be going through some questionable organizational issues based on their glassdoor reviews. A lot of unhappy middle office people there, but traders seem to do ok. Tech is stone age, but it looks like they're hiring hardware guys now on their website. What's their base now, 80-90k? They've been consistently below market for at least the last 5 years.

Had a few friends who interned at belvedere in 2017/2018. They said it was trash in terms of tech. One of them predicted that Belvedere will go under in the next decade. Volant definitely has a better reputation, I'd go with them.

Thanks for the info! I'm def leaning towards Volant right now. Also, is it bad considered bad etiquette/shallow to ask how salary/bonus progresses for successive years?
