Not sure how aggressive this would be- you could potentially email the team leader and say you're interested in the desk because of XYZ and your currently doing XYZ at a certain bank and very interested in trading. You've already applied and spoken to HR, and would love to potentially speak with him about the role on the phone or through coffee whenever he gets a chance.
