Anyone know where to find real-time spreads for US corporate high yield and investment grades? Looking for real time average for the market as a whole.
For example, under the SOVM function in bloomberg you can see real time spreads for US treasuries - w/live bid / asks. Just wondering if anything comparable is available for the corporate bond world.
Yes, I realize that corps arent as easily comparable as treasuries but something should exist out there to gauge overall spreads.

tough to find a one-stop place for IG and HY since IG is quoted in spreads over comparable treasuries, whereas HY is quoted in dollar price... but sticking with your use of bloomberg functions, BUHY Index is the bloomberg high yield index and BUSC Index is the bloomberg IG index. once you're there you can look at component weightings and then click on individual credits and enter ALLQ to see all of the recent quotes. Also FACT will bring you to the most actively traded corporates of the day, and will give you spreads. Best advice would be to look at Bloomberg university and find bloomberg cheatsheets for fixed income--credit and then play around with those. If you work for a HF can't you just ask your sales coverage to add you to runs??? Doesn't your fund have traders???
Nope, relatively small shop - we outsource trading to a third party. Also, we dont have a lot of churn - its not like we are day traders. There may be a period of a week+ where we make no trades at all. We generally have a long horizon. Also, are trades arent large enough in size to warrant our own internal trading desk.
Do you just need to track spreads overall? could just follow the CDX indices in US and Itraxx in Europe...
