Credit Roles LatAm
I know LatAm banking is top tier since they do modeling in house and are industry agnostic, but I’ve heard mixed opinions on credit roles. Thoughts?

Not great deal flow or volume
Even at the BBs? Could you elaborate? Also don’t they do all the modeling in-house?
I knew a chick who was in LatAm at BofA and lateralled to the MM I worked for at the time and was the dumbest person there by a mile / lacked common sense. Don’t know how she even got the job honestly
Not worth it
Even at like JPM/Citi/BofA?
small teams > really hierarchical, harder to grow. Small deal flow. Extremely limited exits unless you want to work in select Latam countries (usually not Brazil or Mexico either because those two have strong regional teams)
Not that it's a bad job if you're truly interested in LatAm and like the team, but those groups typically aren't seen as "prestigious". Honestly, the people I knew that went to those groups were the Latino guys that wanted an easier path to a BB, but none went into PE or wanted to stay in IB long-term.
what exits did they have? how many are still in IB?
What about the hours?
Teams are severely understaffed so it’s worse than in domestic groups
