CS -> Masters in Analytics -> Trading?

Georgia Tech MSc Analytics class list

I have a CS background (currently working as a Sales Engineer at a big tech company) and have always been fascinated by trading. However, I never tried hard to break in as I figured (based in part from what I read here) to be v. difficult unless you fit certain criteria.

However, I understand there's a new trend with Hedge Funds/Prop Trading groups leveraging big data, machine learning etc. and I was hoping I could get in on the back of that. Would the above programme make for a good application? Obviously I would be looking to choose the trading/probability/statistics electives and make some of my own algo tools/strategies on the side of classes. The word analytics has been overused a lot lately but the classes seem more quant than the title suggests.
