Decision making time line

Dear all,

Interviewed for a trading position. Long story short, everything went very very well. MDs final remark as we parted was, "wow you've definitely impressed (knowledge and preparation) me and shown me that you really want this job"

Question: MD first told me that he would get back to me within 3 days. But after I contacted HR, i was told that they were going to look at 1/2 more candidates from their pipeline. Are they looking at a few more candidates cause thats what they usually do? or is it cause Im lacking in some way and they are trying to find someone of even better fit?

best

This is what they usually do when they find a candidate that meets their standards. They then go out and make sure there's nobody better available. If those 1-2 aren't as good as you, you'll get the offer. You still might get the offer even if one of them is as good as you are.

Just be patient, and in the meantime, you need to do the same thing as them and see if you can line up something better than that firm. Don't stop looking until you've gotten an offer and said "Yes" to it.
