Do analysts get forced out after 2 years if senior traders think they can't make $?
I'm seeing a lot of junior analysts at banks leave after 1-2 years. If not for the buyside, they take another job at the bank that is completely different from what they are doing or change industries.
Besides cutting headcount, are banks drawing a hardline on analyst in regards to fostering the analyst for the first 2 years? If after 2 years, if senior traders think he/she can't make money, they release the junior analyst?
