Do u need to know coding to be a trader?

I’m a college student trying to decide whether to go for REIB or sales and trading. I have a RE brokerage internship lined up for this summer. I have plenty of sales xp and am passionate about markets, but have nearly 0 coding experience.
Is coding a requirement for S&T? If so, could I take a couple classes to get up to par?

Meaning certain sectors? Is there an underlying trend in those that do vs don’t or depend on the bank? Thx

Yeah, it's all mainly programmatic trading now that they're looking to hire for. MAYBE up to 5 normal equity traders at the biggest shops, but they are usually D/MD level and are not looking to hire more. This is for cash equities.

Derivs equities trading you gotta be a super math wiz, which means even if you don't know how to code you can easily learn. On the sales side, being quantitatively minded, but you do not need to code - think "really good with numbers, but not necessarily a math major" type aka not scared of high school AP calculus, but not necessarily knowing very high level math, if that makes sense.
