Does trading any stock market account make you a "Portfolio Manager"?

If you open a Robinhood account with $500 and then you buy some Apple stocks and some other random stock. Does that make you a fancy pancy "Portfolio Manager"? And you can put that title on your business card?

No. Technically I mean it's a portfolio and you are managing it, but it would be kind of like saying you're a writer because you keep a diary, or that you're an electrician because you changed a lightbulb. If you want to put it on your resume, what that means is you are a professional portfolio manager. In other words, you generate enough income from your portfolio management activity to support yourself, or could reasonably expect to do so.

Lmfao there are so many kids who actually put this on their CVs. Insane

It's an interesting question you've raised. Simply opening a trading account and purchasing a few stocks, even if it's from well-known companies like Apple, doesn't automatically grant you the title of a "Portfolio Manager." Being a portfolio manager involves a comprehensive understanding of financial markets, risk assessment, diversification, asset allocation, and the ability to make informed investment decisions.
