Electronic Client Solutions JPM

Hello everyone,

I going through placement for my desk with JPM. I was interested in the electronic client solutions team, namely, the product group. I was hearing from people in the industry that if I worked with algos for the trading desks, it would be a great place to start out. The product group in ECS works with the quants to come up with ideas and tweak the algos.

Some thoughts? Is it a good desk to be on? How does the pay or prestige of the desk compare to other desks? Do you get very transferable skills for other groups and hedge funds? I was also looking at rates derivatives and fx options?

This sounds familiar to a desk I was supporting at a bank. I think this is electronic sales trading, if I'm correct? Wasn't sure what exactly they were talking to clients about but it must have something related to algo execution on a dark pools and etc but they were a revenue generating desk. I believe their function is to improve the algo infrastructure for clients sp they can trade with the bank thus bringing it revenue. One of the individual on the desk didn't know how to code, so I don't think you will have to worry about that but I think it terms of execution and where the algo industry is going, you will get first hand in improving it.

Like I said I'm guessing this is what it is but this person I was referring to loves her job and electronic is the future and eventually will over take program desk, high touch and etc
