Electronic Trading desk divisions: Sales (you sell your banks electronic capabilities (algos, darkpools) to clients), Electronic Sales Traders/Coverage (you monitor day to day algo performance, lots of Transaction cost analysis on this desk, not really a great desk imo), Product Management (become an expert in a product (ie SOR/exchange)), algo devs/quant (pretty self explanatory, require MS or Phd or some sort of CS background, most S&T interns don't get placed in this group if they go to Electronic Trading), Execution Consulting (analyze clients trading data, work with sales traders to improve execution quality)

Seems like you are going to BAML, pm me if you have other questions, I did a summer internship on BAML Electronic Trading.

Their job seems to be a routine without the excitement of the market like cash sales traders. Also they spend a lot of time doing algo monitoring.

Is electronic trading the same as automated market making?

Is electronic trading the same as HFT or is HFT just a part of it?

How much of this is taking over from human market making?
