Electronic trading, what is it? Would you start your career in electronic sales?

Few questions,

1.) Is electronic trading also trading? If not what is the difference?

2.) what is electronic sales? At Guggenheim there is an opening in electronic trading sales in equities, what would you actually do/sell?

3.) any idea what compensation and exit opportunities are like for this?

Thank you for any thoughts

Electronic trading can mean different things in different firms, but most likely will involve coding & algo developing for traders/analysts. Not sure about the Guggenheim position, but most likely it is sales for electronic trading algo - you would try to sell execution algos/blackbox strategies to institutional clients.
