End of Year Recruiting

I went in for an interview at a BB S&T desk a month ago. I followed up with the MD and he told me it's end of year so not surprising they hadn't made much progress. I just wanted to get you monkeys' opinions on this, and see what might be happening over there (they are still debating whether or not to hire? or they simply just put it aside for a bit as it gets hectic end of year?...)

What do you guys think would be a reasonable time to hear back from them? All comments are welcome.
