Energy Shops

I was curious about the opportunities at a Vitol/Glencore/Trafigura type shop. Do they have internships (their sites are kind of vague as far as employment goes)? I know they are almost entirely physical trading but can anyone provide any more detail?

Along with Trafigura, Glencore takes on a couple every year. These are positions in London, and as far as I know hiring has been exclusively from around there. To my knowledge, Vitol does not offer internships. These are very lean shops and only hire a few graduates a year. Very competitive.

In the United States, I believe LD has an internship program along with some of the oil majors (BP and Shell come to mind). I don't think the shops you listed offer any internships state-side. I can't speak for all of them, but in general their offices in Houston are much smaller than their offices in London.
