I recommand google "citadel securities systematic trader", it has a pretty clear description
equity MM is on-exchange, highly automated, which means as a trader, you don't have a book, your primary responsibility is to make sure the automate system works as expected, your day to day will be split between managing trading systems, managing IT release, working on project to reduce human operational risk ... the more "sexy" part is to leverage the market structre infomation to generate idea to improve MM strategies.
In smaller shops, the line between QR and trader can be blur.
