Equity Derivatives Summer Internship

I would embrace any opportunity to learn about and be in proximity to equity derivatives trading/strategy in an institutional setting. I'm a math major and I have been trading equity and index options (mainly tech stock options, VIX products, and VIX) since volmageddon last February. I am reaching out to any of those who work with equity derivatives (market making, strategist, trader) to see if they know any leads or where to start seeking for an adaptive internship that would provide exposure to the derivatives field.

The field of equity derivatives remains the one subject I am most enthralled by and which occupies my free time (I have read the entirety of Options as a Strategic Investment, and am currently reading Options Market Making by Baird as well as Options Volatility and Pricing by Natenberg). In addition, I am fascinated with concepts such as rolling put/call skews, gamma scalping, and time spread volatility strategies that are motivated by vol futures term structures, from which to develop trade ideas.

I hope that this specific interest at my age (rising junior summer) demonstrated through my trading involvement, reading list, and conceptual knowledge will be a differentiating factor. I am curious if the community may have any leads and/or suggestions as to how I may pursue these interests in a professional environment over the summer.

If you are that interested in options specifically, you should definitely look into the major prop shops in Chicago. They all have extensive education programs and regularly hire full time employees from their intership pools. I can't speak for all the companies, but I know that at least 2 have already completed their internship recruiting - which began in January.
