ETF FI Portfolio Management

Hi, 

I have been offered a assosiate ETF Fixed income role at one of the TIER 1 asset management firm in London.  I have overall 5 years experience at one of Banks. 

I want to understand the scope of ETF PM going forward. Quiet few people keep mentioning ETF PM is more techonology driven rather than finance driven.  I want to understand 10-15 years down the line how would a fixed income ETF PM would look like.
