Exiting Sell Side FI Trading

Have worked so far at US BB for over two years in FI trading (bonds/swaps) but have found recruiting very slow for exits. Am finding that hands-on practical trading experience hard to come by with many senior people in the team but headhunters are slow to come back with any potentials. Have heard it’s difficult macro environment for HF recruitment but not sure if I’m speaking to the wrong HH or how to get the ball rolling. Maybe it’s a thing of still requiring more experience but would have like to gained some more traction.
