FRM and Trading
Was wondering if anyone on here has done the FRM or know's anyone who is working towards doing one
I recently met the head of risk for Canadian Banking and not surprisingly he was a big advocate of it.
I've come across a couple of people with it (in research roles) but still a really rare sighting.
I was wondering what your opinion's on it is in regards to its application to trading jobs in Canada (if it has any)
FRM is for risk bros only. Traders don't like risk people from the perspective of hiring or in general (because they try to lend a helping hand and limit their reckless behavior), which makes zero sense but is the lay of the land. Then again, most non-quant traders don't like anyone that's too smart. They like to operate on a gut level. They claim it's because too much intelligence impairs decision making.
