Glencore Graduate Interview

Hi everyone,

I have a first-round, face-to-face interview for Glencore's Trainee Trader scheme in two weeks and was wondering if anyone had any insight into what to expect.

Details online are very sparse. I am anticipating fit questions, price of Brent/WTI etc, but does anyone have any more insight?

Thanks,

You better have a very deep understanding of oil/related-products... Not only markets, but focus a lot more on the logistical/hedging side of the business as this is what you'll be covering for 2-3 years if you land an offer. So points of delivery, pipelines, how to hedge different types of risk from point A to B, letters of credit, etcetc. Do you have a background in commodities?

Regarding the technical, the most I was asked was what is the price of Brent today. Still worth looking into what was describe above though - more towards trends and what is happening in the markets, rather than anything in depth (in terms of priority)

Best of luck - it's a great gig!

About 35 mins, competency-based with some fairly basic technicals.

I'm guessing it was less markets and more operations? I heard Trafi is a lot worse on this side.

Would be nice if you provided the whole conversation ( specific questions etc)
