Global Markets: What Does the Day-to-Day Look Like Across Different Roles?
Hi everyone!
I'm interested in pursuing a career in Global Markets and would like to gain a better understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities across different roles within the division.
For those working in Sales & Trading, Structuring, or other Markets-related roles, how does the work differ in practice? For example, how much of the role involves analysing market movements, executing trades, interacting with institutional clients, developing trading strategies, or managing risk?
I'm also curious about how responsibilities vary across asset classes, such as FX, Fixed Income, Equities, and derivatives, and whether the experience differs significantly between banks.
For those already working in the industry, what aspects of the job do you find most challenging or rewarding, and what would you say distinguishes the different career paths within Global Markets?
I'd particularly appreciate insights from people working in Portugal, although international perspectives are also welcome.
Thanks in advance!
