Graduate scheme GPA cutoff

Hi, I want to apply for a graduate scheme at MM I have already interned at (Global Markets). I have a strong positive recommendation from my previous line manager and actually he recommended me to apply to a location outside of Europe (Asia) because according to him headcount limits in graduate recruitment are usually higher than in London/Paris. The point is that GPA cutoff is 3.2 while mine is 3.0. My Major GPA is 3.4 but I guess that it may be a problem. My question is how should I play it? I've got direct contact to HR manager responsible for graduate recruitment and I want to call her and introduce myself, describe my situation and briefly present my advantages (I have a lot of stuff in my CV - competitions, university club, IB internship, exchange). Do you think this will work? What about mentioning GPA in resume?

Thanks a lot
