Has anyone here switched from ER to trading? Is it more stressful?
Which one did you prefer if you switched? How was the pay different? Would love to hear about the experiences.

i have never seen this happen....thinking in quarters vs minutes...hard to be good at both
I know a couple of guys who were in research as analysts (more like rates and credit research, not specifically ER) who made the transition.
Overall, I'd say trading is generally more stressful because you have live P&L. If you miss some earnings or recommendation in ER, oh well, you just go back to the drawing board. In trading it could mean a large percentage of your bonus or even your career. The skillset to be great is different as well, although I think people who are analytical and don't mind putting in hours to learn more could succeed in either.
