Just curious as to how many typical spots applicants are competing for at firms like Optiver/Jump/Akuna/IMC etc. The prop shops that have less than 1k total employees. I had a call with someone and he was telling me typically each trading desk needs a of 2-3 guys and typically the desks are about 5-6 people. Are there multiple desks covering each product or is it really just that small? How many of these desks need new junior traders because it seems like recruiting typically continues yearly no matter what.
