How do you manage to cold-email commodity houses ?

Hi,

If you were seeking for an internship but without finding any official offer issued by commodity firms, would you cold-email HR or traders/schedulers ?

What kind of template would you use ?
-Short email: That you are interested in commodity trading, ask if there are internships available but without attaching your CV.

-Cover letter : Long template and attaching your CV. But it looks less informal.

I point out commodity houses because of their internal structures and the business which are slightly different from BB banks.

Thanks

Don't go to HR, straight shoot for the traders. Keep the email extremely short and to the point. My recommendation is not to ask for a job, because then you will look desperate. Just say you are interested in trading/etc. and would like to set up some time to get coffee to learn about the industry. If he likes you enough, he'll forward your resume without you asking.

Thanks for the advice. Ok I'll stay away from the HR. Unfortunately I'm currently living in the south of France so I won't move to Singap, London or New york just to take a coffee ha. I'll cold email traders as you said, anyway I don't have any other possibility because there are not so much internships in physical trading.
