How much are commodity traders getting paid these days?
Those who work in oil/gas/power/ag/metals trading, how much do you make typically per year?
Base/bonus breakdown would be appreciated
What are you trying to get at? See if you’re getting screwed on base comp? Comp is driven by pnl which makes comparisons a useless exercise

Not really sure what you’re expecting and what seniority, but it’s going to be a lot of 150-200k base and x% points on book which can be very subjective. The real question should be: var, seat cost, points
110k base / 75k bonus - 2yrs working at a prop firm
This is where i would benchmark ABC in Midwest US, LCOL cities
2-3 YOE 85k + 15-25k bonus
5-6 YOE 150k + 35-50k bonus
That number sounds much smaller than I thought!
Thats a low cost of living city in the midwest, not a number in like NYC or anything. Bonus numbers are a little low on that, if you leave for a non ABC you can make a real bonus

So if you make 10mil in pnl, is you bonus 500k (10mil * .15) - 1mil seat cost = bonus?

1) that includes flow?
2) phys/fin?
3) hf or trade shop?
Oil major - 120k base, 8-10% of book for financial trading, low bonus to a few MM+ is the range you’ll see on the floor. Couple outliers to the upside

yr2 - 100k + 400k
yr3 - 125k + 2.75m
yr4 - 125k + 1.1m (expected)
