How to resign for a lateral position

Hi everyone,

I’ve been working at a MM corporate treasury buyside trading role for the past 5 years. I got a great offer at a BB sell side trading role where I am currently a client.

I’m really tight with my MM’s senior management, and one day I may want to come back here.

For now though I was thinking of just resigning and letting them know I’m moving to a competitor sell side role, and no other info other than I had a great time here and to stay in touch.

Any other advice on how to resign? Most of the threads on WSO are on IB->PE where you’re now in the client seat and it’s common to say where you’re going.
