How to stand out at networking events?

I've been invited to an invite only networking event at a Bank's HQ to network and learn some more about the firm, from my understanding the invite list is around 20-30 people.

What can I do to make myself stand out and improve my chances of success at a graduate role? I have been preparing some good questions and I have some trade ideas I've run by some friends who are already graduated and are trading (to make sure they aren't completely rubbish), and I was thinking it might be interesting to discuss some of my ideas and what the salespeople/traders I meet think.

Any thoughts on my approach or advice from those working in sales and trading on what would impress you/ make you likely to mention someones name to HR would be great to hear.
