IB summer to S&T career

Hi!

Currently in my 3rd year in my 4 year MSci on Chemistry at a Top UK university.

Have some experience in markets at my university investment fund and some general trading knowledge.

Have some python knowledge, will be brushing up.

About to do my summer in the IBD at a BB later this year but I've had a complete change in heart when it comes to career and no longer want to be a PowerPoint monkey.

Not sure if I should interrupt my degree to reapply s&t summers next year or if I should drop out with a bachelors and apply for off cycles next year.

Do you think it would even be remotely possible to convert my IBD summer into an S&T one/

Really want a job on the trading desk and would appreciate advice on how to change career paths, how I should prepare.
