Im not gonna get an RO

S&T at a BB. Always do my work and do it quickly and correctly and ask whether I can help. Im always on time too. The other intern is sometimes late and lazy, and asks questions where they clearly didnt think it thoroughly.

Thing is, I think they are more likely to get an RO instead of me. Wtf? Im a moderately outgoing person with a very interesting background and good work ethic, but because my trading floor has no after-work parties, has a bunch of senior levels instead of juniors, and I have no bloomberg terminal, I am literally stuck toiling at my final project everyday while the other intern spends their time having seniors do the thinking for them.

Intern life absolutely suck. I passed my CFA lvl 1 already but Im expected to look like an idiot 24/7. I gotta politely ask my sales senior whether I can shadow them and wait till they r ready bruh, when I was trading I just went! No way to show meritocracy or adaptability when the trading floor culture is just silent af.

Is this normal or is this a me problem?

Maybe cultural fit being off isn’t your fault, but waiting for senior team members to be ready to talk is a large part of any internship. People are busy and they like being reminded their time is more valuable than yours
