They are a Japanese company and heavily favor career advancement to their Japanese employees. I would recommend avoiding as a junior. You are better off working there as a more experienced person to get fair comp.

Also if you’re interested in becoming a trader this isn’t the mitsui subsidiary you want to work at. Their physical trading subsidiary is in Houston and called mitsui and co energy marketing and services. If I had to guess it’s probably 70-80k for entry level. But don’t worry about comp til you get an offer lmao, no harm in interviewing.

I know that base for a junior “trader” (trading assistant) in London is ~ 45-50k GBP and bonus up to 50%.

They are mainly a flow based office (at least in London) so not much if any true spec trading and sometimes do some financing plays on the phys side. Think they’re looking to expand their phys operations though? Maybe someone else can comment?

If you look on companies house you can see their reporting and also one section shows their VAR.

I don’t think it’s super well known but from what I have heard people working there really enjoy it and turnover is very low because of that.

Hope that helps a bit
