I want to ask: What actually happens in summer internship sales and trading? I mean you can't actually trade right?

u play support to the senior guys on ur desk..research, grabbing lunch, etc. its the exposure that you get by being around the area and what you learn from them. fast paced, taking down correct trades..
just like in IB, for the most part interns run comps, edit pages, run to the printers, flip books.
the senior analyst will handle the model and the MD will pitch.
however, that is not the case for all trading internships, especially if you are interested in commodities.
what happens in commodities?
I'm currently a commodities analyst intern in Shanghai. You basically do a lot of research and use excel all day long.
I actually wanted to hear about this as well, none of the BBs offer actual trade execution opportunities? Not even client orders?
